Ciarán Fulton has spent more than twenty years in diagnostics. He has been Head of Diagnostics at LifeArc, Head of Product Development at Biofidelity and Head of Assay Development at Osler. He built an ISO 13485-certified diagnostics team from two scientists to more than thirty. In 2022 he set up Dolmen Diagnostics, an independent consultancy helping IVD and medical device companies with IVDR, quality systems, design control and product development. His clients include Abbott, Hologic and Eurofins. What he didn't have was a brand or a website to show any of it.
Problem
Most of Dolmen Diagnostics' work came through recruitment agencies and referrals. That brought in steady projects, but it left the first introduction, how the consultancy was presented and often the fee in someone else's hands. There was nothing for them to find. No logo, no website, no single place that explained what he does or proved he had done it before. A Head of R&D or Quality Director checking him out had a LinkedIn profile and a CV to go on.
The audience made this harder. These are senior, time-poor people in regulated industries who are wary of consultants who advise from the sidelines. They need to see named clients, real numbers and hands-on delivery, and they need to see it quickly. A solo consultancy had to sit credibly alongside the Abbott and Hologic names on its own client list.
The subject matter added another layer. IVDR, ISO 13485 and design control are dense, rigid topics. Ciaran was clear about what he didn't want: walls of text, slow pages, broken forms, and the usual stock photos of scientists and DNA helixes. He also wanted to add and update pages himself, without calling a developer every time.

Outcome
We started with the brand. The logo is drawn from Ballykeel Dolmen in Co. Armagh, a structure built to carry weight and last, which suits a consultancy that carries the regulatory burden for its clients. A quiet palette of Deep Slate, Ghost White and Platinum, with Dusty Teal for accents, and the engineered lines of Special Gothic Expanded give it a technical feel without a single stock lab photo. The result is a one-person consultancy with the presence of an established firm, and room to grow.
The website follows the same restraint. One idea per section, with the detail one click deeper on four service pages: IVDR, Design Control, Quality Services and Diagnostics Product Development. Proof sits near the top: a 30+ person ISO 13485 team built and led, £3m+ development portfolios managed, accredited CLIA and CAP labs, and testimonials from Hologic and Abbott. A Head of R&D can see what Dolmen does, and that it has done it at this level, within seconds.
The site is built in Framer with a CMS, so Ciaran can publish Insights articles and update pages himself. Each service page targets the terms buyers search for, such as IVDR readiness and ISO 13485, and the Insights section builds search authority over time. A working enquiry form and GA4 tracking mean senior buyers can now get in touch directly, and Ciaran can see where they come from.
What the clients say…
"Glenn took the time to understand my work and explained the thinking behind every step. The brand and website reflect how I work, explains complex regulatory work in plain terms, and I can update them myself."
